Little did Joe Giarrusso know that when he retired from a long and storied career in the entertainment industry, his life would become even busier – thanks to his taking the helm at Palm Springs International Piano Competition.

This energetic leader has taken PSIPC to the next level – from the name and location change, to increasing major gifts by 160%, to reinvigorating education and outreach efforts. A gifted composer, Joe loves music and can combine the most unique instruments into a sonata that soars. He’s always had a passion for classical music and it shows.

Joe has recruited board members with exceptional musical talent. More importantly, each of these new members also come with a wealth of business and nonprofit experience. Leading a strong, compassionate and caring team is Joe’s true talent.

When he’s is not creating his next composition or taking PSIPC to new heights, Joe loves spending time with his husband of 40 years and his dog, Vinnie.
