3 time prize winner (solo and concerto) 23 year old Christopher Richardson performs a varied program – a potpourri if you will. Bach, Chopin, Liszt, Stravinsky, Hirtz’ Fantasy on Wizard of Oz, Can’t Help Falling in Love, and Uehara’s Tom and Jerry Show. This 90 minute concert will be performed with an intermission. The Return of David Maiocco as Liberace. Held at the former home of the musical icon, audience members are transported back in time through an interactive performance by highly acclaimed Liberace tribute artist, David Maiocco.
Following the inaugural performance of PSIPC & Friends in 2024, Marco Godoy, Michelle Fiori, Joe Giarrusso, Jessica Greene, Elaine Wang Meyerhoffer and Robert Koenig return with a completely new performance designed to delight patrons ~ with several performers playing original compositions by Joe Giarrusso. Joining the fun this year will be John Walz, cellist and Giorgi Latso & Anna Fedorova Latso – The Lastsos Piano Duo.
Palm Springs International Piano Competition will officially herald the beginning of our 2024-25 Season with an exciting tribute to the legacy of Peggy Cravens entitled, Virtuoso Voyage featuring the keyboard pyrotechnics of Nathaniel Zhang, winner of the 2019 Junior Division Competition. Proceeds from this highly anticipated annual benefit support vital music education programming and Competition offerings across the institution. The evening’s performance of solo piano works begins with a lively cocktail reception followed by a gourmet dinner prepared by award-wining executive chef, Luke Patterson.
