When you meet Lois Darr, you’ll find it impossible to believe she’s 91 years old. This spry, enthusiastic musician has spent decades helping young women find a path to success in musical education. She firmly believes that money should not be an obstacle to education and her work in PEO (Philanthropic Educational Organization) has made this possible for the many women who received scholarships. Lois also serves on the board of the Palm Springs Friends of the Philharmonic and was a founding member of the Steinway Society of Riverside County. Lois holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Piano Performance, Music and Secondary Education.

She received her MA in Music and Choral Conducting, then went on to teach junior high school music. Her warmth and generosity are unsurpassed; and, she uses this to immediately connect with people from all walks of life. When she’s not raising money for her philanthropic pursuits, you’ll find Lois enjoying time with her family, including grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
