PSIPC Reinvigorates Education Program

After a long absence from its educational initiatives during the pandemic, PSIPC has reinvigorated its Education & Outreach programming. In conjunction with the Latin Fire concert, Artistic Director Robert Koenig incorporated his and Sara Sant’Ambrogio’s music into school setting. Starting at 8:00 am on November 30th, Koenig and Sant’Ambrogio conducted a concert and a Q&A session at Cielo Vista Charter School. Attended by 4th and 5th grade students, the 90 minute session introduced them to piano and cello along with what a career in performance arts might look like. In the afternoon, band, chorus and music theatre students at Cathedral City High School we treated to a two hour session. The outreach session culminated in students from Desert Hot Springs attending the evening performance. Thanks to the generous transportation sponsorship by Joe Giarrusso & Charlie Paglia, twenty students with a music interest/focus were guests at the 6:00 pm performance and reception. Other outreach includes hands-on keyboard classes at Amelia Earhart Elementary and Roosevelt Elementary in Indio.
